When you’re at that stage of your blog or site where you want to start creating linkbacks or linkjuice to improve your pagerank on Google, you want to create linkbacks to your blog or site on other sites that utilize the “DoFollow” value for their hyperlinks.

The DoFollow hyperlink value basically tells the search engine that outbound links from their site are creditable and thus adding linkjuice to that site being linked to. Sites that use DoFollow essentially allow spiders or bots to crawl and follow the links on their website.

Sites that utilize NoFollow disallow their site or page to be crawled by spiders and bots thus making any outbound links uncrawled and essentially nonexistent to search engines.

Don’t be discouraged with having your outbound links on NoFollow sites. A link to your site is still a link to your site and any method to increase exposure to your site is always positive. Who knows, people may even mention your site on other blogs giving you a free linkback and it might even be on a DoFollow site.
